I trained 10 years in BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and ran a school for 5 years. I now train Systema only and love it. Rather then look at the differences or getting into BJJ vs Systema,it has been my experience that principles I learned in BBJ helped me going into Systema.
Relaxation and Posture are two principles that are emphasized in BJJ, as they are in Systema. I will be posting more on here, just registered as a member. Scott Tackett

I agree Scott. I hold a brown belt in BJJ, and actively train both BJJ and Systema. Perhaps I would consider training only in System a if I lived in Toronto or something, but for now I try to focus on their similarities rather than their differences.

I still love BJJ,but kind of have moved on. I trained for around 10 years in it. Besides, the groundwork in Systema is pretty much the same, just more movement ,as opposed to establishing a position. That was my style in BJJ anyway,I am pretty small,so used a lot of movement
