The Russian Coat of Arms consists of the Two Headed Eagle
(Двухглавый Орел - Dvooh-glaviy Orel - comes from the old Russian Empire.
The heads represent the dual sovereignty of the Emperor to the state and religion, ruling over both East and West.
The figure in the center is of Saint George the Victory-bearer (Георгий Победоносец - Georgiy Pobedonosetz).
Saint George is the patron Saint of Moscow and, by extension, of Russia.
